This movie is the best fishing movie I have seen since Tarpon by Guy de la Valdene. It’s even better… It’s just simply the best fly fishing movie ever made ! It has everything in it : fun, fish porn, deepness, incredibly well shot, good editing, great music… It explores all genres from real life documentary to 80’s flash back with little chunks of Big Lebowski in it. The guys are fun, handsome and sexy, the trouts and fishing action are mindblowing, the rythym is perfect, the story keeps you on tenterhooks, New Zealand is incredibly well shot. ONLY THE RIVER KNOWS is a total winner, so good that even none fisherman will enjoy it.
