At Le Mouching, as you know, we like to talk about the things we love. And here, this is particularly the case!! I needed a new pair of wading shoes. And bam, here comes the stress!! Until now, I’ve had only boring shoes, cheap, a pain in the ass to put on, beautiful in the shop and look like shit after three days of fishing, the shoelaces that squeak when you pull on them…. So I needed to take it seriously, starting from the following statement: a good pair of wading shoes is not the first one you pick in the shop. So, this time, I decided to invest a little bit. And my choice went to the  new Simms Vapor.

And here’s what I think: they are gorgeous, super light, you put them on like a dream thanks to the neoprene inside, a wide opening, and the fact that the shoe is sufficiently rigid to keep its shape when you put your foot inside. The shape of the shoe is super comfortable, and holds the ankle very well. As other models, they are available with the Vibram Megagrip sole so that you can take them to New Zealand or other countries which banned felt soles.

Of course, I don’t have many hours of fishing with them since I bought them a couple of weeks ago. But the quality of the workmanship and the rigid shape tell me that they will last a couple of years no problem, like all Simms shoes do.

The Simms Vapor are in this very particular category that I love and am at the same time a little bit ashamed of: the category of products that make you say: “Why didn’t I buy this kind of thing before??? Why didn’t I invest smartly in a durable products that perform so well where others just piss you off??? You dumb ass!!!”.

Thanks Simms for making those super quality products for our passion. You guys in the US can find them at the California Fly Shop.
