For a long time I have been looking for a good line to catch seabass on the French west coast. And I’ve discovered The RIO Mainstream Saltwater lines. These saltwater lines had been created for all the fisherman and novices who want to fish without getteing skinned and getting a high quality product. The head allowed you to cast facing the wind, and the pale blue color is easy to see when the sea is rough. A perfect product that you can use in warm and temperate waters. You can feel that the line is strong between your fingers. After several weeks on the rocks and the beaches, my WF9 is still in good shape. The weight of the short head is great, you are quickly on the running line and so your casts are quickly very long… Perfect for the bonefish of the carribean flats !

I remember the first fish I caught with the WF9 that  bought earlier this year. It was late at night, and we didn’t catch anything for several days. But the last post was perfect ! Low waters, a massive oysters park on the right, and a little shrimp fly that I keep the secret… A long cast with the wind in front of me allowed me to put my fly just at the edge of a deep break. After one or two meters, this britannian seabass gave me an incredible bite. After a short but intense battle, this nice fish was in my hands, and went back eating his shrimps in the Golfe du Morbihan.

The RIO Mainstream Saltwater is a great product for versatile fishermen. I used it on freshwater, for catching pike. The line is not made to cast huge streamers, but you can use it to catch poppers or other topwater flies. I used it with a simple rabbit zonker, lightly weighted, and I threw it near obstacles (strains, banks and reeds). I caught a good pike and it was really funny ! The cast were really easy. I used it for alewife to, but a floating line were ineffective where i was fishing. The fish were too deep. What about the next step ? I know that the bonito are coming. It could be an amazing experience ! And the Mainstream Saltwater will be part of that game…
