Not too long ago, we showed you the trailer for an upcoming film about proposed open pit coal mine in Alaska, to be “built” into the watershed of a pristine salmon river, the Chuit river or Chuitna, as it is called by the natives. This river happens to be the very one I fished on my first great fishing trip overseas so it remains quite special to me. The few locals I met over there have been extremely friendly and welcoming  and it is those locals that need to be heard here, they will need the support and the voices from people from all over the world, be they anglers or people who just care.
Nobody but a few greedy millionaires “needs” such a mine… worst of all, the coal would be sold off to Asia and other places outside of the US!
