We’ve all seen a woman in men’s waders. They are not cut for them. So let’s be kind and shop for woman’s gear only! You think it’s difficult but more and more fly fishing companies are making gear dédicated to our fly fishing women! But not enough, you’re right. Still you can find the basic, the main brands all have something in stock for you. And if you don’t find anything, you still can offer a rod and a reel or even better, a Mouching cap!
Here’s a few suggestions
Redington has quite nice waders for the ladies, and shoes, they have more technical stuff than fashion (I mean shirts, hoodies…) We like the Kate or the Mrylin, when I say we, keep in mind that I’m writing this with my wife overlooking over my shoulder.
Simms, there is the famous G3 wader, which is perfect if you fish very often, it’s tough and especialy cut to have a perfect fit, there are other waders less pricy and as good if you are starting to fish, we also love the shirts and my wife shouts that the tropical hoodies are the best ones!Well you’ve got everything to make Mademoiselle happy by the water!
Patagonia, they got it all! They understood that women fly fishing is the new market target, therefore from hoodies to shirts to waders, boots, hats, tees, everything is made to find the perfect fly fishing gear with a little je ne sais quoi that’ll make all the difference.Its the most complete store.
At Columbia, they know women are fishing! They take it very seriously and even if you don’t find waders, all the rest is there, and you’ll find here more than enywhere else what you’re looking for to be comfortable as a women when you go fishing. We love the Bonehead gear to fish the flats, wether it’s the shorts or the shirts. And they are not as expensive as the other brands.
Than you have Howler Bros, they don’t have much but we sure love they flat long sleeve Tshirt in UPF45, that you can wear on the flats, or when you go for Redfish, since Howler is from Texas.
And last but not least, there is Flygal, April Vokey’s shop, it use to have fun stuff such as bikinies and undies, but now they only have hoodies (great ones with Diane Michelin’s art), but there’s a lot of tees, hoodies, and jewels!
