Opening, never like you think it’ll be, a magical moment when, mire than ever you feel an invisible pressure, an overwhelming fear getting you. Fear of not catching fish, fear of not being the only one on “the” spot, fear of finding another car on “your” river, that the water will be too cold, that there will be no hatch. Many reasons to keep you away from the river when it’s opening seasons, at least for a few weeks, once all the restless fishermen would have calm down, when the water and the weather would have warmed up, when the pressure would have gone down. That’s when I like to go fishing. But sometimes, opening can be magical and a big mama releases all the pressure built up during those winter months where you had nothing to do but to think about the opening. A pressure that once released brings joy and happyness. As in this beautiful minimalist film shot on river Dordogne on opening week by our friends from 9p#5.
