Cuba Mixtape

Si señor! No es facil pero haci es Cuba! We all hear the rumour, soon, soon, soon you’ll be coming by the hundreds, all of america’s salt fly fishing addicts are going to come to Cuba, and you better get ready. Not only because what you’ve all heard isn’t true, it’s either better or worst… We’ve been going to Cuba since 92′ so we’ve seen the changes year after year, from la perioda especial in the 90’s when Russia stopped helping the country to the Rolling Stone playing in La cuidad deportiva, we’ve whitnessed the first fly fishing trips, we’ve been the first clients in many of them, from Cayo Largo, Cayo Santa Maria, Cayo Cruz, Cayo Coco and the latest San Lazaro, in each of them we had the privilege to be one of the first to cast flies to fish that never seen anything like this before and where comming to check our flies! But today, we know that even if it’s still complicated to come to fish in Cuba, it’s soon goign to be too easy… and what has been a jewel for fly fishing (who hasn’t heard : it’s like FLorida 50 years ago!), is soon going to be overtaken by hurds of turists spoiling what once was a paradise. FOr instance, the most beautiful wild beaches are already sold to all inclusive resorts for thousands of turists. But, hey, we’ve been so lucky to be to go fishing for half the price that those fishing trips are sold today. All we have now is memories. So this afternoon, I light a Special Edition from la Casa Partagas and I play this mixtape, I hope you’ll enjoy it too.
