Spots on the trout, and a spot on presentation… In those small streams you’ll find sometimes surprisingly big trouts. Few people fish them, because flyfishing there is quite a nightmare. Cover and overhanging branches will complicate your casting in infinitley many ways, and structure will make trouts difficult to spot, shrink the casting target to a dessert plate, and will make the fight interesting if you luck into a nice fish… you may verge on the nervous breakdown (I certainly did more than once). You know the Jensens, we’ve seen them catch obscene amounts of insane browns. Now they’re doing short instruction videos for Orvis. Indian scouting, short and sturdy leaders, bow cast and low rod fight. Maybe you already know all this, but it’s such a pleasure to watch them operate!
