Full Wels, a clever double entendre, is a fine token of French fishporn. It came to our desk from our friend Olivier Janin. Pure big catfish in the Loire river, caught float-tubing on the fly. Per se, that’s what you’d call exotic fishing. Old Fred Halford and his dry purists crew from the Test would eat their hats in rage.  So: take a merry bunch of crazy cat chasers, on Archimedean assist, drifting on a river full of cats ranging from nicely fat to downright huge, a couple of man-rods, and voilà, you’ve got fishporn. But throw in the mix a couple of nice animal shots, a strange cow and a dead sheep right from a Lynch movie,.. and there we are. We love it.

And for the geeks out there, it’s also quite a tackle porn. You’ll see Epic Bandit 10wt crazy bent over a 6′ cat, and especially Olivier’s sweet and insane rods. Unique, like rodbuilding alone can provide you. He works with lure fishing blanks. A MHX SSP845, orange glass and fantastic home made blank and orange EVA grips. And a REVCB80MH from Rainshadow, a stout carbon from the old RX7 series, now called Revolution. Loads of power to sling heavy streamers and tame two-yards-long cat in the Loire currents…

You’ll find all this at Rodhouse, on special orders. Are you fascinated? Maybe you feel the need but you know nothing about building rods? Don’t worry and go check the forum. It’s full of competent, nice and broken-English speaking people. Tell’em you come from the Mouchin. You’ll be a VIP…
