Lefty Kreh

There isn’t one of us who doesn’t owe something to Lefty Kreh, and if you had never heard of him, it’s probably because you have been in a cave for the past 50 years! Lefty Kreh passed away yesterday, and we all feel the grief, it’s like if we had lost an old uncle, even if we didn’t get to see him often, everyone would speak about him! Lefty has done so much, it’s main purpose was to make fly fishing easy for everyone, he loved teaching how to cast, (you can check that on all the videos on the web), he loved to write, he wrote THE bible of the fishing knots, a book every angler should have handy. It’s only when he turned 40 that Lefty Kreh moved to Florida and really got involved in salt water fly fishing. We owe him the famous Lefty Deceiver, here’s how to tie it:

But Lefty also made it easy for a lot of anglers by creating TFO fly rods company, perfect rods at a normal price, for fresh or salt. I have several of them, mainly for salt water and now, every time I am going to use one, I’ll remember Lefty. Lefty Kreh, probably the one guy that did the most for fly fishing in the 20th century. Thank you Lefty.
