Patagonia + Danner + Vibram
Watch out, here’s to drive you insane until Febrauary 19, the next Patagonia Wading boots! O fcourse everyone knows how serious Patagonia is with dedicated gear, especially with fly fishing and certainly more than anything with wading boots. Everytime you buy Patagonia gear, you don’t just buy gear, you buy premium gear that has been feild tested for months, that is probably the best you can get. But most of all you buy a waranty. And maybe Customer’s Service has been invented by Patagonia! So here they are the two brand new wading shoes coming out in February, if you were planning on buying new ones I suggest you wait.
But more than just two pairs of wading boots coming out next winter, it is the bands Patagonia joined in to produce the best sawn wading boots you can ever find. Danner! Yes the famous shoe maker from Portland who makes fantastic climbing boots as well as the Marines boots, all made in USA, hand sawn soles that you will be able to replace! And for the soles, one brand : Vibram! And yes you read well, resoling is now possible! Forget the wading boots you had to throw away once you ruined the sole! Glued soles made in Asia are for other brands.
Today there are two models from Patagonia: Foot Tractor Wading Boots and River Salt Wading Boots, shoes that are made from treated leather and Nylon 1000 Deniers, it’s tough and light at the same time.
The River Salt
The River Salt Wading Boots feature low profile adjustable speed lacing evolved from Danner’s Marine Corps boots, and a bi-fit board combines shank, lasting board, and PU midsole into a single piece, thereby providing a lightweight platform. Additionally, a VIBRAM® Megagrip outsole with sticky rubber delivers impressive traction in an out of the water, as well as increased durability. The River Salt Wading Boots are designed specifically for the Middle Fork Packable Waders, wet wading, and the flats. They will be available in Feather Grey for $449.
The Foot Tractor
The Foot Tractor Wading Boots have an adjustable lacing system and a 5mm rubber midsole. With a VIBRAM® Idrogrip outsole for durability and performance, anglers have the choice of sticky rubber ($499), felt ($499), and aluminum bar ($549) for their preference of best traction. The Foot Tractor Wading Boots will be available in Forge Grey.
