Do you have plans for this summer? A trip to Scotland? Well, here’s Lana Richardson, fly fisherwoman and enthusiast, to show you what it can be like! (Don’t get too excited, the weather can be shitty here too, but that’s not going to stop us! ). Anyway, get your Adams ready!

I hope you’ve got a good waterproof jacket, a tweed cap to keep your head warm (and that’s how you keep your whole body warm) and that you’re ready to get sauced while you wait for some nice farios to come out!

In this video, Fulling Mill ambassador Lana Richardson takes us fly-fishing for wild fario trout in Scotland. Our goal was a warm, sunny summer day, but the Scottish Highlands had other plans for us. Despite the gloomy weather, we persevered and had a wonderful day’s fishing. In this video, Lana tells us why she enjoys the lochs of the Scottish Highlands so much and what she loves about fishing there. She shows us her favorite fishing method and her favorite fly: the Irresistible Adams. As Lana will tell you, Scotland’s wild brown trout simply can’t resist her. If you love fly fishing, adventure and beautiful scenery, this is the video for you. There’s nothing more spectacular than fly-fishing for wild brown trout on these remote Scottish lochs.

Lana Richardson has been a Fulling Mill ambassador for many years. Growing up beside a flooded river in the Northern Highlands, learning to fly fish was as natural for Lana as learning to ride a bike. By the age of 4, she was fishing for trout on her own in small mountain streams and lakes, and by the age of 5, she had begun to fish for Atlantic salmon. After catching her first salmon at the age of 6 with an ermine tail, her passion for fly-fishing was truly ignited. Lana mainly fishes for Atlantic salmon.

After catching her first salmon at the age of 6 with an ermine tail, her passion for fly fishing really took off. Lana mainly fishes for Atlantic salmon, brown trout and sea trout in the Scottish Highlands. If she can fly fish, she’s ready to try her hand at any species and technique. Lana lives in the Scottish Highlands and works in habitat conservation and land management. She is lucky enough to make fisheries conservation and management part of her daily routine. Alongside her main career, she also enjoys guiding and teaching fishing to beginners. When she’s not at work, she can almost always be found casting her line.
