I love the format of this kind of trip. Three days is more than enough time for a little fun with friends. Of course, you don’t have to go to the other end of the country. There’s nothing like spreading out around your own backyard.

That’s what Pat Ryan and Mickey Finn did. They are fishing guides in New South Wales in the Tumut region, not far from Kosciuszko National Park. Let’s face it, where they’re going is going to be the stuff of dreams. A three-day trip on foot with a rucksack, in this sumptuous setting, bivouacking in the middle of nowhere but with the river nearby, in search of brown and rainbow trout. But the latter have to be earned, and they’ll have to rack their brains a bit to get one out. It’s an inspiring film
