How much do we love it LE Gave. It’s not just the river of Navarre and the Basque Country, it’s the atmosphere, it’s the “extras,” it’s the thickness of the air, the food and the Pyrenees that rise up and seem close enough to touch, mountains on a human scale. And the Gaves… with all their history, going there for brown trout and always telling yourself that if you’re there at the right time, you’ll find sea trout! Or even a salmon! Even if the subject of salmon is a delicate one, because… there aren’t any left. It’s as simple and terrible as that. But what a river! Thank you to Thibault and Jean-Baptiste for taking us there.

The Gave d’Oloron is one of those rivers that brings together fishermen, passions, and friends. Its beauty is matched only by its versatility and the challenge that sometimes comes with catching a single trout.
