This was during my last visit at La Maison de la Mouche in Paris that Alain Dubois showed me with a true enthusiasm the brand new Scott: the Radian. The model I had in my hands was this good old 9’#5 that is the great all-round trout fly rod for our french waters.

The aesthetic follows the style of Scott: a fine mix of old-school with innovation, made in USA products. The blank not sanded and not varnished, there are small trims on the ligatures, black reel-seat with wooden insert, titane stripping guides, and above all a high-quality blank that benefits from lot of technologies that you’ll see in details on the Scott website. True feather-weight, this is the rod that calls for a rush to the river to try it.

The rod is given for a fast action rod. Compared with a Sage One, it is much softer, more medium-fast than fast. But it gives a lot of speed to the line. It loads very easily with few meters of line out, and at the same time allows a very good line control even with more than 15m of line in the air. This is one of the rare rods that really fish in a wide range of distances.

A true Queen for dry fly fishing, a very versatile rod but of prime quality and very classy.
