What is not cool in France is that we don’t have the Innoko River, as in “A Backyard in Nowhere“. And because of that, we don’t often have the opportunity to target monster pikes on shallow waters. We have to go down deep, and sometimes, really deep. Moreover, when we want to catch big fish, we also want to cast chicken-sized streamers. I’ve hesitated, and hesitated, and hesitated again, and finally made the step forward: after a couple of years of great satisfaction with my Airflo Depth Finder 400gr, it was time to go big with the 500gr, Big Game series. [slideshow] All flyfishers who like to cast big flies will love this flyline (of course with the appropriate rod). My most bad-ass streamers are still sick after having been on the Space Mountain with this flyline. And it sinks like hell (it is close to, or very close to the fastest sinking line on the market). Is it worth saying it, it is low-stretch. I would even say more, compared with the classical Depth Finder (not the “Big Game” which has a high-resistance core for big saltwater fish), it has apparently less stretchy. So simply said, it is even better. This flyline is the champion of deep fishing. The coating is a little bit scratchy but a flyline dresser is enough to get rid of this problem.

One of the most efficient thing I’ve had in my hands in 2013…
