A lot of you maybe were’nt born but at the time, when we had the first records from Grandmaster Flash or Scott La Rock and many others from the beginning of the hip hop years, that was arond 1984. At the radio station I was working in, we were only playing Jazz/Soul/Funk/African/Latin than, everything changed. At the beginning, I remeber well, people were calling “can you stop this music“? Others were saying, “na, it won’t last till winter“. SO here we are, nearly 35 years later, and what do we hear as mainstream all over the world: Hip hop influenced music.
