I was after trout and witness two huge “logs” under the trees.. But they were gone a second after. Back an hour later and only one is there, huge shadow waiting for action. Some mayflies were around so I cast my big dry fly just 7 inch in front of the fish. Like a rising zeppelin I see my monster slowly approaching the fly and swallow it in a sucking. My rod is already bend to the max as the fish disapeared deep. 5 minutes of heavy bottom fighting and comes to the surface a very angry grass carp. Surprise !! It seems that my olive mayfly pattern had been taken for a piece of lawn… and the carp had been taken for a trout by me !
