That question has always haunted fishermen of a delicate complexion. From Thoreau to Hemingway, from Walton to Maclean. Why do we fish? What is that strange quest, at the end of all these hours dreaming, preparing, working, sweating, what is the price? The treasure? That mythological gold which reflects upon our spirit when we get a fever in cold winter, and take out a rod just to touch the cork, to feel it again ?
