What’s best for an Easter weekend but to dream of a fly fishing destination? Pretty soon it’s going to be dry fly season and Slovenia is the mecca! End of April/May/June/September/October is when you want to go!

For the past 3 decades Slovenia has been the #1 fly fishing destination in Europe. There are a few reasons for that: river management dedicated to fly fishing, very low price, amazing landscape beautiful rivers, amaziing food, welcoming peaople and many, many, many fish: rainbow trout, brown trout, marble trout and grayling! Ah, you are right the fish is not always wild fish but their fisheries are one of the best in Europe (the Tolmin one is one of the best). So for sure you are going to catch fish, but what do you fish for? Swinging your fly in the air or hooking up some playfull fish? Slovenia is changing quickly, if I was you, I would go now!
