Mister Etienne ORVET of Saint Paul le Jeune (07460) wrote us…

 “Dear Mouching,

Very quickly you have become my reference in the area of fishing and even in the way I conduct my life. Engaged in the most banal of household tasks I ask myself: “In their manner always elegant and efficient, how would the team at the Mouching execute this task?”

On opening day last week, as is the tradition, I went to the shore of my favorite river; I was confident, haughty and wore a broad grin. At the river, to my great consternation, there was not a single rock unoccupied. Every spot was occupied by fishermen who had arrived long before me. Is there no longer place in this world for us lovers of “sleeping-in”, like me. “Oh my illustrious mentors, guides of my life, what do I do?”

Dear ORVET,

Your compliments go to our heart. Like you, we are lovers of our slumber and the thought of your being deprived of the pleasure of killing fish grieves us.

We put ourselves right to work, relentlessly searching for the solution that the world awaits; today we joyfully offer our panacea.

The night before “opening day”, after tightly caulking-up all of the house’s orifices (doors, windows etc.) with chewing gum (the brand is unimportant!), we open all of the faucets in the kitchen and bathrooms. When the water reaches a good level in the rooms we release several pounds of trout known as “raised trout”. The next day we have only to stay at home and fish in pure tranquility, no trials or tribulations and we mock the fickleness of the weather.

In the photo one can see Vilmo (our Brasilian collaborator) and his new girlfriend taking a well earned rest after after an emotion-filled day.
