Several weeks ago, I was invited by my friend Alexander. As usual, the program was exciting: duck breast, red wine, cheese… And above all, fly tying! It was one of the first time we were tying flies together. Not that we don’t know each other for a long time but we never had the opportunity to tye flies together.

So that evening we planned to get to the vise. But not any flies: the kind  that will make us catch seabass! Alexander, you know, he has a well-stocked library. American books, French books, English boooks,on freshwater and the saltwater. But there’s one that I immediately caught in my hands! It’s Saltwater Flies: Over 700 of the best, written by Deke Meyer! A book that the first page made me dream. A real porn magazine dedicated to fly tying for bonefish, tarpon, and everything that swims in the salt and eats flies.

So, I was forced to buy it. And since then, I tie flies which I never thought  I would! From classic Lefty’s Deceiver the original Pete’s Crab Belize. Flies that will hopefully go into the gaping mouth of a large seabass in a few weeks!
