MONSTER CATFISH ON FLY

The most incredible video we have seen this year is really a feat and it comes straight from France! Fly fisherman Olivier and his friends noticed some huge catfish (silurus) rising on the surface. They discover that the monster fish were swallowing dead drifting corbiculas.

Back home they try to tie a decent pattern with foam and fur, the corbicula fly that should like the flesh of the mollusk was born. On the water again with a 10′ rod, they target the silurus like they would do for a trout but the CDC fly has a 2/0 hook on it ! And it works ! They took more than 30 fish in few sessions, the biggest was 7 feet ! That’s some sport ain’t it ?
